FICCI Water Awards

6th Edition of FICCI Water Awards

The FICCI Water Awards were launched under the aegis of FICCI Water Mission, to promote awareness, policy advocacy, sharing of best practices and thought leadership in the area of water use efficiency.  The awards were initiated with objectives to:

  • Recognize efforts and leadership in the area of water efficiency and conservation; and
  • Develop a knowledge base on sustainable water management practices adopted by different stakeholders and disseminate best practices for encouraging their adoption.

Call for Nominations

Nominations for awards to be conferred in 2018 are invited, in confidence, on the Nomination form along with the testimonials, in hard and soft copy, which may be sent by Email: watermission@ficci.com, with a subject line “Company Name_Nomination form for FICCI Water Awards 2018.

Application deadline: Deadline : 10 September 2018 for Urban Wastewater Use Efficiency Category.

Assessment Process

The Call for Nominations is put up through print and online advertisements. A standard template for sending information is developed for every category. Once the applications are received, an initial screening is done to ensure the applicants fulfil the eligibility criteria. This is done on the basis of the narrative submission by the applicants. The shortlisted applicants are asked to make a presentation to the jury, which is followed by field validation if required and final winners are selected.

A jury comprising of eminent professionals working across different verticals in the water sector   scrutinise the qualified nominations and select winners for each of the categories.

Awards Ceremony:

The Awards Ceremony will be held during the 4th  Edition of the India Industry Water Conclave on November 2 , 2018 at FICCI, Federation House, Tansen Marg, New Delhi


The objectives of the Mission’s work are:

  • To formulate suggestions for changes in policy framework in India for better water resource allocation, conservation and management
  • To promote fresh water conservation strategies across the irrigation, industry and domestic sectors
  • To document and disseminate best practices across various sectors and create a forum to facilitate exchange of information and experiences in the country
  • To promote new innovative technologies of water saving and management like rainwater harvesting, watershed management, desalination, water auditing and accounting across water intensive sectors through projects, workshops, conferences and training programmes.
